Carolin Illenzeer Fund
We support education of children whose parent has been killed or injured in the line of duty in the Estonian Defence Forces.
Carolin Illenzeer is the daughter of Arre Illenzeer, a Senior Warrant Officer who fell in Iraq. Carolin has seen her father only once, in the summer of 2004, when Arre was on leave in Estonia.
After Arre’s death, his friends and like-minded individuals came together to support the family. This was the beginning of the Carolin IIllenzeer Fund that aims to help families that are in a similar situation.
Today, the fund has 64 children on its list. We provide children with a schoolbag support in September, and we also support their hobby education on an ongoing basis.
We support children whose parent has been killed or severely injured while serving in the Defence Forces. We would like to ensure that all children on our list have equal opportunities, irrespective of whether they are interested in basketball, football, horse riding, cycling or something else. The children will eventually grow up, which is why we also issue university scholarships.
The aim of the Carolin Illenzeer Fund is to collect financial and non-financial assistance to support the children of the members of the Estonian Defence Forces who have been killed or severely injured in the line of duty. The guiding principles of the Fund are kindness and good will in order to help cover the schooling costs or support the hobby activities of the children of the members of the Estonian Defence Forces who have fought for Estonia.
President of the Republic, Alar Karis, is the patron of the Fund.
