How does your donation help?

NGO AIDS Information and Support Centre main activities are:

Firstly, prevention work against HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), drug using: anonymous HIV testing, counseling, psychosocial support of HIV-positive people, safe sex education, preventive actions among people involved in prostitution.

Secondly, work with injecting drug users: needle exchange, Methadone treatment detoxification, rehabilitation in day care center. Drug addicts learn life skills education, they have to undergo a "12 steps" program, they are involved into work and art therapy.

Thirdly, work with relatives: rehabilitation of co-dependent members of family in day care center.

After 9-12 months in drug-free environment mental and physical health of the addicts has significantly improved, they restore or create social coping skills, learn to live drug-free life, restore family relationships, daily life, and enter the labor market to become a fully-fledged members of society.

The organization is included on the list of income tax incentive non-profit organizations and the donors will get back the income tax paid from their donation and the donations made by companies are tax-free (Estonian Income Tax Act § 49). Read more about taxes: Donating and taxes.
