How does your donation help?
Following one of our slogans, ‘Documentary photos make an impact’, we contribute towards improved quality of life for Estonia’s elderly residents through a high-quality hobby activity that enriches their spirits, maintains health, facilitates social interactions and reduces loneliness.
Your support is used towards organising special events for the elderly - the "Better Sundays" and the "Perspective" photography mornings for seniors, providing opportunities for meaningful, inspiring and social interaction.
- “Better Sundays” is the last Sunday of every month at Documentary Centre. On this day you can come to see a the exhibition for free if you come with your elderly relative or acquaintance.
- "Perspective" photography mornings for seniors. A typical monthly photography morning for seniors consists of three main elements:
- Inspiration – a photography-related lecture, conversation or workshop (e.g., presentation of a photo project, exhibition review, lecture on a photographer, chapters from the history of photography, coverage of socially relevant topics in documentary photography, etc.);
- Five photo stories – a chance for the elderly to show a photograph and tell a related story. Each event features 5 presenters and 5 stories, hosted by a moderator;
- Interaction – during various active breaks and guided photography exercises. There are also sufficiently long coffee breaks and possibilities to have lunch together in the exciting Telliskivi Creative City.
* if the situation with Covid19 gets worse and physical events are not allowed, the photography mornings will be held online.
