Jasmiin is from a litter of kittens that used to live on the street, and Eesti Loomakaitse Selts helped them find new homes four years ago. Jasmiin's owner contacted us after the accident. Somehow, she managed to swallow a thread. Swallowing thread is very dangerous for animals, as it can cause the intestines to fold around it, which might lead to having to remove a portion of the intestine, or worse. So, the owner immediately took her to the emergency vet. At the clinic, an X-ray revealed that Jasmiin’s small intestine was bunched up. She underwent immediate surgery, and the thread, which had reached all the way to the cecum was removed. The surgery went well, and Jasmiin is now recovering at home. Unfortunately, the unexpected incident has been a major financial burden for her student owner.
