Make your donation count more than ever today in the “I Love to Help” environment
03.12.2024Today, December 3 marks the 6th Estonian Good Deeds Day that celebrates NGOs and invites you to support their work with donations. Every donation made in the “I Love to Help” portal during December 3 will be topped up by Swedbank.
“According to a donation study conducted by Kantar Emor in November, nearly 50% of Estonian residents find a way to support those in need financially despite the volatile economic environment,” said Tiina Pakk, Social Responsibility Manager at Swedbank and one of the leaders of “I Love to Help”. The study also revealed that there are twice as many women among donors than among men, so this time, we have a special request for men. Please pick an organisation that works on an issue that seems the most urgent to you and help them out if you can. It’s the right and good thing to do and the organisation you support will be forever grateful,” said Pakk, adding that on Good Deeds Day, every donation made in the “I Love to Help” portal will be topped up by Swedbank.
Swedbank’s donation depends on the amount donated during the Good Deeds Day in the armastanaidata.ee portal. If 10,000 euros is reached, the bank will match it; if 20,000 is donated, the bank adds 20,000, and so on up to 40,000 euros. The overall amount will be divided between charitable organisations in proportion to the donations they receive.
The “I Love to Help” donation environment does not take commission fees, and you may rest assured that every euro you donate is transferred from your account directly to the NGO’s bank account. You do not have to be a Swedbank customer to donate. The portal is open to make convenient and secure donations for customers of all major banks.
"I Love to Help” is Estonia’s longest-serving donation environment that features dozens of thoroughly vetted charitable organisations. On the platform, founded in 2008 by Good Deed Foundation and Swedbank, 100 different charitable and advocacy organisations have raised over 4.8 million euros. Currently, the armastanaidata.ee website features 43 organisations that can be divided in 5 categories: education, healthcare, children, strong society, plus animals and nature preservation.
The Good Deeds Day is part of the international charitable movement Giving Tuesday that was initiated over 10 years ago in the US to counterbalance the shopping spree of Black Friday. Now, the Good Deeds Day is celebrated in more than 100 countries across the world. The Estonian Good Deeds Day is organised by the Estonian Civil Society.
