Today, donations made in the “I Love to Help” donation portal matter more than ever!
28.11.2023On 28 November, we celebrate the 5th national Good Deeds Day. All donations made today in Estonia’s oldest and biggest donation environment “I Love to Help” will be matched by Swedbank.
“I hope everyone has an area close to their heart they wish to support. Today, our donations have bigger impact than usual, as Swedbank will help donors support charitable organisations,” said Kärt Kaasik-Kepler, Swedbank’s Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, and spokesperson for “I Love to Help”. “The broader objective of Good Deeds Day is to encourage people to do good deeds that support NGOs in helping those in need. We invite people to find an area that matters to them and support it by donating their time, items, or money. The “I Love to Help” environment is a safe and comfortable place to do so,” she added.
The more people donate at www.armastanaidata.ee on the Good Deeds Day, the bigger Swedbank’s contribution. If 10,000 euros is reached, the bank will match it; if 20,000 is donated, the bank will match that too, and so on up to 40,000 euros. Swedbank’s support will be divided between charitable organisations in proportion to the donations they receive.
The Good Deeds Day welcomes everyone to support the charitable organisation they care about the most. New regular donors are especially sought after, as regular donations give charities a sense of much-needed security.
When donating in the “I Love to Help” portal, you can rest assured that every euro will reach the intended organisation, because there are no commission fees. You do not have to be Swedbank’s client to donate; clients of all bigger banks are able to donate for charity.
I Love to Help is Estonia’s longest-serving donation environment uniting dozens of hand-selected charitable organisations. On the platform, founded in 2008 by Good Deed Foundation and Swedbank, 100 different charitable and advocacy organisations have raised over 4.3 million euros. Currently, the armastanaidata.ee website features 43 organisations that can be divided in 5 categories: education, healthcare, children, strong society, plus animal and environmental protection. Donations can be made from biggest banks, and in September, a comfortable donation option was created for the customers of Coop Pank as well.
The Good Deeds Day is part of the international charity movement Giving Tuesday that was initiated in the US in 2012 to counterbalance Black Friday’s shopping spree. This year, the Good Deeds Day is celebrated in 90 countries. In Estonia, it is organised by Estonian Civil Society in cooperation with regional development centres.
